Meet The Author
Henry L. Palek

Henry Palek was born and raised in Blairsville, PA, a small town east of Pittsburgh. His mother, Helen, and several of his aunts fed his fanciful appetite for the bizarre with spooky stories and taking him to the various horror and science fiction movies that came out in the 1950's. These, of course, have now been dubbed as B-Movies; never-the-less, they were fun and provided the fodder needed for his imaginative thinking.

He attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell SD, and was graduated with a degree in Biochemistry. Following graduation, he returned East and began his varied travels across the United States, living and working in various industrial settings in the South, Northeast and Midwest.

He and his wife Susan have now settled in the small town of Clarksburg, WV where he does consulting work and is also an instructor at West Virginia Business College.

He has always enjoyed writing and is often credited with an over-active imagination in his many technical and analytical reports. His two grown children, Gretchen and Henry Jr. can also attest to this, as he often told them fabricated embellished Mother Goose stories, when putting them to bed at night.

Henry belongs to the West Virginia Writers Association, and participates in several writing critiques with several other local authors.

Return to Io is his first book, which made its debut on February 27, 2006. He has finished two other books that follow in the shadow of Return to Io. The Deadly Probes Scenario, a science fiction novel, deals with the actual beginning of the brown-eyed babies. The second book, presently untitled, deals with the lives of several characters in Return to Io.
